Make Base Of Your Case

You can use a cookie cutter to make the base of your cake. To make sure the base is flat, you should measure your cake pan’s width and length. Make sure that you evenly cover the entire width of your pan. Now, remove any excess wax paper from the outside of your pan. Make sure you remove every bit of wax before setting the base into your cake pan.

Piece Of Wax Paper

Take a piece of wax paper and place it at the top of each marshmallow center. Carefully place marshmallow pieces into this area. Press down gently on the marshmallow and smooth out any crevices. Next, place another piece of wax paper over the marshmallow. This piece should be a little bit larger than the first. This will allow for room for each marshmallow to fall over.

Line Of Chocolate

Use an offset spatula to spread a thin line of chocolate between the two pieces of wax paper. You don’t want to make this too thick, or you will end up with a messy mess. You can add in any candy to fill the space between the chocolate. You can use mints, chocolate chips, strawberries, even popcorn!
The next step is to heat some fire. You can either set up a fire or light a fire with a match. You will need a wick to keep the marshmallow burning without burning your fingers.

Hot Wick: Campfire Cake

Next, take a marshmallow (either whole or part) and place it over a hot wick. Use tongs to melt the marshmallow down slowly. Be sure the wick doesn’t catch fire! It might look funny, but it’s important to keep the marshmallow burning down. As you make small flames come out.

Drop The Marshmallow

Now, use your hands to drop the marshmallow into the melted marshmallow carefully. When you get to the bottom, use tongs again to remove the marshmallow and roll it up into a circle once you get all the marshmallows that you can trim it down to create a ring.
Use a fork to form a rim around the base. You can use a small piece of wax paper to hold the marshmallow to stay in place.

Metal Cookie: Campfire Cake

You can now add another marshmallow to the base. Repeat this step until you have used up all of the marshmallows that are on the base.
At this point, you are ready to add in the chocolate. Use a metal cookie cutter to cut out any shapes that you like, but remember to keep them all the same color and size.

Shape Of Fire: Campfire Cake

Now that you have your chocolate on the cake, you are ready to cut the shape of a fire. And place it around the outside of the cake. Using tongs, carefully melt the marshmallow and place it around the outside of the shape. You don’t want it to stick when you are done.
Place a cookie cutter at the top of the marshmallow, and melt this piece of wax paper until you get a nice round shape. Now you can add the fire to the top of the cake.

Use a pencil to outline the shape using basic shapes, like triangles and circles. Then use your hot iron to draw around the entire outside of your outline.
Finally, put the top layer on top of the wax paper and allow it to harden. You’re done making your very own campfire cake!
